Interrogation !

Inspector Gewurz : Now, you say you went to the West End last night.
Who ............................................................ ?
Jammy : Nobody went with me. I was alone.

I.G : OK. What happened when you went into the restaurant ?
Who ............................................ ?
J : I sat next to some people I didn’t know. They were Chinese businessmen. (Friends of Ruofei, maybe )

I.G : I don’t suppose you talked to them, but who ...........................?
J : I talked to the waiter. He’ll remember me.

I.G : Will he? What ...................................... ?
J : I can’t remember exactly what I said to him. But we talked about the food.

I.G : And then I suppose you paid the bill. What ...................... ?
J : I went to the cinema.

I.G : What .......................... ?
J : ‘Star Wars’ was on.

I.G : I know you haven’t got a car and there were no trains, so who ............... ?
J : A taxi driver did. And then I just watched a bit of TV and went to bed.

I.G : And who ................................... ?
J : Nobody could prove it, I suppose. You’ll just have to believe me.

Good luck !
Marie

Inspector Gewurz : Now, you say you went to the West End last night.
Don't tell me lies, I know you were with somebody !
Who was with you ?
Jammy : Nobody went with me. I was alone.

I.G : Hum, OK. So, what happened when you went into the restaurant ?
Who did you meet there ?
J : I sat next to some people I didn’t know. They were Chinese businessmen. (Friends of Ruofei, maybe )

I.G : I don’t suppose you talked to them, but who did you talk to ?
J : I talked to the waiter. He’ll remember me.

I.G : Will he? So you're looking for an alibi ?
What did you talk about with him ?
J : I can’t remember exactly what I said to him. But we talked about the food.

I.G : And then I suppose you paid the bill. What did you do after ?
J : I went to the cinema.

I.G : What movie did you watch ?
J : ‘Star Wars’ was on.

I.G : I know you haven’t got a car and there were no trains, so who brought you back home ?
J : A taxi driver did. And then I just watched a bit of TV and went to bed.

I.G : And who can corroborate what you're telling me ?
J : Nobody could prove it, I suppose. You’ll just have to believe me.

I.G : Mmmmm, I'm not convinced you know, each culprit says he's not guilty. Well, I'll call a friend of mine who's living in America. He's got a wife he's always talking about, a dog, some kind of saucage on foot and an olf french car which consumes more oil than gasoline.
See you then.

Marie.

Inspector Gewurz : Now, you say you went to the West End last night.
Who went with you/did you go with ?
Jammy : Nobody went with me. I was alone.

I.G : OK. What happened when you went into the restaurant ?
Who did you sit next to ?
J : I sat next to some people I didn’t know. They were Chinese businessmen. (Friends of Ruofei, maybe)

I.G : I don’t suppose you talked to them, but who did you talk to ?
J : I talked to the waiter. He’ll remember me.

I.G : Will he? What did you say to him ?
J : I can’t remember exactly what I said to him. But we talked about the food.

I.G : And then I suppose you paid the bill. What did you do then ?
J : I went to the cinema.

I.G : What was on ?
J : ‘Star Wars’ was on.

I.G : I know you haven’t got a car and there were no trains, so who drove/took you home ?
J : A taxi driver did. And then I just watched a bit of TV and went to bed.

I.G : And who could prove it ?
J : Nobody could prove it, I suppose. You’ll just have to believe me.

- who could testify you was were there
- what did you watch -in the cinema => je dirais que les anglophones s'arrêteront à watch...... et puis le "in" me gêne un peu
- back at home, tout simplement "back home".

ma Miss Pernickety one more time - Mais n'hésite pas à m'écrire, d'avance merci !

Marie
