Eh bien ! Betty est partie. Je lui avais dit que je ne pouvais pas avoir de congés. Elle aurait pu m’attendre mais elle ne l’a pas fait. Elle était impatiente de prendre l’avion pour Londres. Je peux à peine le croire ! Elle a peut-être un rendez-vous dont elle ne veut pas encore me parler. On le saura bientôt.

I spent a hard time to translate this text particularly to translate " aurait pu m'attendre" ; Isn't it too hard for beginners ?

Les débutants doivent se familiariser avec les difficultés,et peu à peu ils arriveront au niveau intermédiaire et avancé; il faut progresser en tout sinon on stagne ou on régresse.Et dans l'ensemble les traductions étaient correctes.Il faut affronter les difficultés !et se motiver sans se plaindre
cela n'était pas une plainte de ma part chère Lucile mais juste une constation ; je ne parlais pas en mon nom car ces difficultés rencontrées au contraire me motivent pour progresser et me montrent que j'ai encore certaines lacunes et qu'il me faut dans ce cas réviser ma conjugaison !!!!! Ce que je voulais dire dans ma remarque c'est que je trouvais que le niveau requis pour moi n'était pas un niveau débutant et que 2 étoiles m'auraient semblées plus justifiées; But your are the teacher !!!!!!
