If I may say so = used for introducing a personal comment, when you know that the person who you are speaking to may find this offensive / si je peux/si je puis me permettre cette remarque
(just) Say the word = used for telling someone that you are ready to do something for them as soon as they ask / Tu n'as qu'un mot à dire
Say no more = used to say that you understand exactly what somebody means or is trying to say, so it is unnecessary to say anything more / n'en dis pas plus
That's/it's easier said than done = used for saying that something is a good idea but will be difficult to achieve / c'est plus facile à dire qu'à faire
Go without saying = to be completely obvious or true / il va sans dire / il va de soi (que)
Have something, nothing, etc. to say for yourself / what have you to say for yourself? = used to ask someone to explain why they have done something bad / qu'avez-vous à répondre ?
Having said that / that said = despite what has just been said / ceci/cela (étant) dit
I must say = used for emphasizing a statement / Je dois dire
Let the world say what it will / les chiens aboient, la caravane passe
Say your piece = to say what you really think about something / dire ce qu'on a à dire
Say when = used for telling someone to tell you when you have given them enough of something, especially food or drink / dis-moi stop
That is to say = used for explaining something that you have just said in a more exact way / c'est-à-dire
There's no knowing/telling/saying = it is not possible to know what will happen / impossible de savoir/prédire/prévoir
To say the least = used for saying that you could have expressed something in a much stronger way / c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire
You can say that again = used for expressing strong agreement with what someone has said / c'est le cas de le dire!/ je ne vous le fais pas dire!
What do/would you say (to something/doing something)? = would you like something/to do something? / qu'en dites-vous ?
What/whatever somebody says, goes = a particular person must be obeyed/ c'est lui qui décide
When all is said and done = when you consider the whole of a situation, and not just one aspect of it / au bout du compte / en fin de compte
Who can say? = used for saying that no one knows the answer to a particular question or knows what will happen in the future / qui sait?
You don't say! = used to express surprise / sans blague!/ ça alors!
Say cheese! = used to ask somebody to smile before you take their photograph / souriez!
I must say that I am happy!...
