Hello amigowhite,
Having just read the quote, I would say it's not a question about whether I agree or not. I think I agree with what Confucius said anyway. Here is one interpretation that comes to my mind.
The first step - that single step - costs a lot of efforts. If you want to get on with a long journey, don't think about the number of steps, the number of kilometres, the number of obstacles... Such thoughts could paralyse you. Just get on with the first step, then the second one will be easier, and then you'll go on and on... with perseverance, determination, routine, and that overwhelming feeling of joy when reaching the end of your "one thousand miles" journey! (whatever your interpretation of the word "journey" may be).

Confucius was aptly named, because he confuses us!!

Of course his statement about a thousand-mile journey is true. More generally, it means that a task that seems insurmountable when viewed as a whole becomes much less intimidating when broken down into manageable parts.

And by the way, his statement is still literally true, even with modern forms of travel. After all, you still have to walk to your car so you can drive to the airport!!

Hello!
I hadn't thought about what traviskidd expressed so rightly in his last sentence. How amazingly true!
Yes, amigo, only 999 steps left now. You'll get there! It's only little by little that the bird builds its nest --> "Every little bit helps", specially when you are at the beginning of a new job/task/project that seems like "a thousand miles long journey".

Thank you (mp27and Traviskidd) for your encouragement as you said only999 steps left as I made the first one what is left is easy .In fact the expression tells us that although some tasks in life seem impossibly difficult,it is only necessary to make a start on them in order to make their completion a possibility ,and don't you think that this expression rhymes with the poem of Julia Fletcher Carney "Little Things". I didn't do that in purpose ,maybe this choice was made because I deeply believe that nothing is impossible in this life.
In every person ,there is a hidden

Hello amigowhite!

--I think that when you said "expression" (=sentence from Confucius), you meant: the " quote".
--You seem to have discovered, by chance, that the quote "reminded" you of the poem "Little things" by Julia Fletcher Carney (that's the way I understood what you said). I haven't thought about a possible link yet, between this quote and the poem "Little things" you introduced a few days ago, but it'll be interesting to find out any connection with this quote.
--"In every person, there is a hidden..." then you put a big smiley, and your signature...). Please, could you tell all of us "what" is, according to you, "hidden" in every person?

Hello mp27
Don't you think that one first step of a journey of one thousand miles is a little thing which may start a long and rich trip, just like a small drop of water that may make the mighty ocean this is what I meant.
what is hidden(if you have noticed the super smiley) is a super person inside us who can overcome any obstacle by optimism and faith
