The same day, in London, Lee-Andree who was watching the driver's behavior saw him hitting his car with a golf-club. Why is he doing that? she thought. She began to be afraid a little bit and preferred staying away from him.

- Rony had a big smile on his face, and said ; my father told me that the last time he saw you... , you were wearing a very nice dress , and that it would be more appropriate to drive you by car .
- As you can see today we are wearing some cloth more casual . In fact , we apreciate to be in the open air .

- Ok then ; I agree with you and most of all this way we won't have to go trough the traffic jam , beeing confined in a over heated car .
They all went down the stairs , and got onboard the small craft . Rony started the engine , and asked Howard if he wanted to drive it while he was cleaning the inside a little bit .
- I am sorry ; but I use the boat sometimes to go fishing and it is a little bit messy there , it will take a second . after a quik cleaning operation , the inside of the craft was in order . Rony let Howard drive to their destination just giving some advices , where to go between the buoys to stay clear from the hidden rocks , and fifteen minutes later they arrived in front of small cove ; Rony let Howard drive untill the end of their small journey , he just operated the engine and stopped it half a mile from the sand . The small craft made ashore softly and Rony 's father just had to catch the rope that his son gave him to keep the boat ashore .

In London, the scene had drew a crowd. The door of the luxury car opened and a handsome man went out of it. Some people shouted "it's Brad Mit!" The famous actor smiled to the people and spoke to his driver, by trying to calm him. The heart of Lee-Andree began beating violently because Brad Mit was her idol...

-"No, it was the first time. When I saw the crowd, I could'nt help doing it."

-"Oh! sure, you may because you seem so sweet... He would enjoy talking to you. Oh! There he is."

-"Yes, it's the premiere of my latest movie. Would you like to come? I always book some places for my friends."
-"I would really love to go but I have to study tonight."

During those three week spent in Hawaï, Howard and wendy had learnt a lot of things about this country and the inhabitants
from the day they had spend at Nono's and his wife Maeva ; with them they knew a lot of other people who showed them some different ways of their lives which the tourist ignore , beeing carried between the beaches, sports, or lazying around .
For a honeymoon which is suppose to be an intimate moment shared by two people in love, they had almost never been alone
but , among all the activies they did surrounded by these people , they learnt to know each other a little more , get closer , and realise that they did the good choice when they decide to become wife and husband .

They were close from the departure ; and the two of them were at the Airport ;sitting on a bench and looking at all he peple going back and forth ; Wendy locked in her husband arms . They were both happy to go back home , but they knew that soon they were going to be back to their daily grind , made of appointment and healing pains for Wendy , and waiting for a phone call for Howard ,as he a knew from an e-mail send by his daughter Lee Andrée ; that his high command was eager to see him about something important . As she didn't tell him what it was all about , he started to speculate about it and for a while a lot of things were jostling in his mind . Finally he thought in himself that the best thing to do for the moment , was to enjoy the few last hours in Hawaï , and that he wouldhave a lot of time to deal with all this when they are back home . He was so deeply in his thoughts , that he had not realised that all that time , Wendy her head on his shoulder , was looking at him . Her long curly dark hair were going down on his back . She felt that somebody was gently playing with it behind her . She turned slowly her head and she saw that little boy not even two years old his baby bottle in his left hand , taking a bunch of hair in his right one and fondling his face with it .

-She played with the baby for a while and suddenly she felt an urgent need to become a mother. She was thirty-six and she realized that it would be the best time for her to become pregnant. But, Howard and her didn't seriously speak about having children. Wouldn't he like to get some? He already had a teenager... "I'll talk to him about this on the plane", she thought. She stared at him a moment and noticed a gentle smile on his face while he was observing the young child.

A few minutes later they were on board the plane , and while the stewardess was explaning them some of security instructions that most of the people never listen , or when they do , it is with a pain in the stomach ; she held Howard's right hand in her's, and watched through the porthole all the yellow cars of the maintenance and freight service driving back and forth from plane to plane , She heard a noise under the plane , and suddenly she saw that it was moving backward , in the mean time she heard the voice of the stewardess through the spearker, telling all the passengers that they were ready to take off , to be seated and to fasten their seat belt .
While the plane was taking more and more speed , the picture of the little boy starring at her with his dark brown eyes while he was fondling his face with her hair , came back to her mind .

-Howard seemed very happy and was eager to see his daughter at their arrival. He noticed that Wendy in spite her smile hadn't say a word for almost thirty minutes. He couldn't imagine why she had that kind of behavior. He just couldn't help himself thinking of that young child...
-Suddenly, Wendy told him: "Seeing that baby got me, I strongly feel the lack of a child in my life. Sharing it with you makes me very happy but don't you think we could have one? I'm still young and I'm sure I'd would be a good mother. We haven't seriously spoken about it... Tell me Howie what you think of it?"

- Yes ..! I did think about it sweet heart , I was wondering how to get onto the subject with you . I remember that once or twice children were part of our conversations , but without it seemed to be important in the mean time .
- Really .....! she said with a big smile and sighting to tease him. You men ; for a long time you should have learnt how a woman think and act when they want to know someting from you or make you act some way . Often... ; things or words which doesn't look important to you , can be essential for a woman when she decides to study your behaviour .
- Woman are complicated ...! He answered laughing ; and added : Yes wendy ; I would be very happy to have a child with you .

She didn't say a word , but she just looked at him and they stayed a long while eyes in eyes , before she layed her head on his right shoulder and felt asleep . They were both tired , as they hadn't been able to rest during the last four days in Hawaï .
With Nono and his wife , they had met a lot of people . Some showed them how to grow pearl oysters , and they had been allowed to dive to see them from underwater and even pick some up to bring them to the surface and see if the nature did it's job .
Wendy and Howard had been quite amazed about the enthusiasm these people had for their job , besides the fact that they could make a lot of money after all the perls had been cleaned and transformed into wonderfull jewels , this kind of farming " if I can use such an expression " is like any other jobs where animals are involved ; a considerable constant personal and time investment .
Maeva had learnt Wendy how to cook a" Lu'au ", and to built an" Imu" to be able to cook it ; Howard was teasing her , by asking her where she would be able to find a sandy beach in the middle of London to burry her meal and cook it .
- I have my idea ...! Wait till you see it !
For sure he didn't complain when Maeva with the help of an old lady , taught Wendy how to practice the " Lomilomi " this Hawaïan massage which heals the spirit and by the same way the body . Of course it takes more than a few days to learn about it , but withthe skills acumulate from the years of experience with her job , she had been able to understand a lot of things and Howard who had been her first patient had to admit that it was worth it .

The plane flying at thirty five thousand feet was almost silent ; some people were streching their body once in a while , as beeing seated for long hours was giving them some pain in the back or maybe that they simply used to be active , and to be stuck in a seat for hours was making them squirming or walking in the center aisle to talk to some freind on the same flight and in the mean time bring the circulation back to their legs .
Howard also had fallen asleep ; the voice of a Stewardess from the speaker woke them up . They were now close from Los Angeles , and they should be landing pretty soon . After a long procedure where the plane goes down from floor to floor , which gave them the time to have a good look over the hudge city ; they landed softly on the land strip . It was funny to see all the people streching and sighting while the plane was reaching the outside track from where they could get into the Airport .

Both were happy to be able to walk a little bit while they had to wait an other hour before taking an other flight going to Toronto and finally to London . They used their waiting time , taking a shower and changing their cloth in one of the bathing room of the Airport . The feeling of the hot water and the softness and scent of the liquid soap running on their body was a real treat , and a wonderfull relaxing moment after the long hours spent sitting in the narrow and uncomfortable space devoted to a passenger .

Finally, the plane landed on Heathrow airport. It was cloudy and cold when Howard and Wendy went out of the plane and they regretted the sun of Hawaï. Having picked up their suitcases, they went to the exit where Lee-Andre was waiting eagerly. By seeing them, she jumped for joy and came running towards them...

- Aloha ....! she said with a big smile on her face . She gave a big kiss on her father's cheek and hugged Wendy . She held her hand a few seconds , scrutinizing her .
- What ...? said wendy .
- I thought that you were going to be dressed in those wonderfull "Pareos " ; look at your sun tan ! I whish that I can see you in such a dress some day .
- It is too cold here now , but be sure that I have bought one or two of them ; I promiss you that next summer if we have a barbecue, I'll dress like an Hawaïan . Maybe before ," she added" ; but it will be a surprize .
Howard was happy about the collusion between the two woman ; he could see that Lee Andrée had accepted the fact to have a presence between her and him . It was possible that she had missed not to have a feminine company for all those years , and having Wendy there now , among some other things , it was also the best which could happen to her , even if it seemed to be a little late somewhere .

He's very nice to me and always makes me laugh. Unfortunately, he's going to leave our country next week to go to Canada. He's been asked to perform in another movie. I'll miss him a lot."
"I see the picture" said Wendy. "Wouldn't you like to invite him tonight? We could have dinner and know him better."

"Oh! It's a very good idea, thanks a lot," she said. Lee-Andree was so excited, she jumped and kissed her father and Wendy.

- Let's go ...! Said Howard ; I am impatient to be at home and rest . The long hours spent in the planes were quite demanding for my back .
They took a taxi all togheter , and after a short ride they were at the door of their home . As it was close from winter , there were no more flowers on both side of they alley, and the trees had saved not even a leaf . Only the row of fir trees between Howard's and his neighbours were still green . Howard thought he had a good idea to plant them ten years ago ; they delimited his land and they were a good protection against the wind during summer , when they were having meals outside . He also appreciate to have a little bit of colours under the often grey sky of winter . Some bird feeding roosts which were hanging here and there well hinden under the branches and high enough to escape the appetite of the cats , were giving life to the garden when hundreds of birds were coming at the same time to feed itselves .
- What a contrast , with the exburance of flowers we could see in the garden of Nono and Maeva ; Howard said .
- Contrast with the temperature also ; Wendy said . It 's quite chilly here ; let's go in I don't want to catch a cold .

They all came in the house . Howard put his luggage down in the hall, took a big breath of air and sighted .
- Home sweet home ...! Lee... where is bill ?
- Jim took it for a few hours ; he wanted to go jogging and he asked me if he could take it with him ;he said that at the same time it would be a good thing for the dog which was surely bored beiing inside the house and that they both needed to breathe and have some exercise .
- She didn't finished to talk , that they all heard barking outside . Wendy opened the door , and the only thing she saw , was a golden bunch of hair runing into the hall , which slipped on the varnished floor trying to recover it's balance and came back toward them turning around them like a fool barking and roiling waiting to be stroked .
- Woah ...! He seems very happy to see you ! Said a loud voice behind them . While they were looking at the dog , they had not seen Jim at the door step . He was swetting like if he had run under the rain
- Come in ..! said Howard ; don't stay ouside ! It is so cold , you could get sick if you stay there too long .

- No no answered Jim I am soaked ! I really need to take a shower ; I was just bringing the dog back Before going home . But if you don't mind , I can be back before an hour if you are not too tired to accept a guess .
- You know it ; you are always welcome here Howard said . Just the time to set all this and to prepare a little something to eat while we wait for you .
- He didn't finished to talk that Jim was already in his car driving back home . Lee Andrée and the dog were both sitting on the couch watching the scene and all we could see, was their two heads side by side coming out of an old blue blanket in which she had wrapped the two of them .
Wendy and Howard were wearily going up stairs with their heavy suitcases in the hand .
- Lee ... Howard asked ; could you prepare a little something to eat while we change ?
- Yes dad... ; I would do anything I can for you two .
- Be generous with the quantity.. he added ; Jim is coming back in a few minutes
They all laughed and went to their occupation .

- Lee Andrée was still busy in the kitchen , when the bell rang at the door . Bill .. rushed to the door from it's cushion lying close to the chimney , and almost hit the wall because of the slippery varnished floor under it's paws . It sat a few meters from the door and waited for Lee to open . The way it was acting , it was surely someone he kew .
- What a surprise.... ! said Lee when she opened the door ; Jim and his wife were standing hand in hand in front of her .
The dog walked slowly toward Helen and put gently it's snout in her hand , waiting to be stroked . It was amazing to see the reaction of the dog ; it had not seen Helen for month , and it was like it was telling her ; welcome ! Glad to see you in good shape !
Even after they came in , it stayed a long time close to her and layed down litterally on her feet , taking some long while to look at her while they were waiting for Wendy and Howard to come down stairs .

Finally the two newly weds came out from the bedroom , and appeared in the living room . They all shout a ... Whoaaa.. ! and burst out laughing ; even the dog barked . Howard was wearing a short , and a light multicoloured shirt with on his head a boater .
Wendy was wearing a wonderful blue and green pareo reembering the Hawaïen sea . The pareo was just tied behind her neck, and going under her knees , her black hair going down to her waist in a long braid .
- Aloha ...! they said , going toward Jim and his wife What a surprise ! said Wendy to Helen ; as she was taking the woman hands in her's and giving her a kiss on the cheeks ; ... You seem such in a good shape ; she said gently , starring the woman in the eyes
and keeping her hand's in her's .
- You also look wonderful . Answered Helen with a big smile on her face ; With your sun tan You look like a real Vahine .
- We wanted to spin out the ambiance of our trip ; we had such wonderful days overthere . I wouldn't have dressed like this if it was not you , I don't even wear a bra under this light dress ; this is not something I usualy do .
- I won't tell anybody ! Said Helen ...laughing

While she was saying it, somebody was ringing the doorbell. Lee rushed to open the door, she almost felt on the slippery floor. She was so exciting, she opened the door and stayed speechless. The handsome man she fell in love with was just in front of her... and was holding a large bunch of white roses.
-"Hi my sweet Lee! I'm so happy to see you and share the dinner with you and your family. This is for you and I've brought something else for your father and his wife."
-"Oh! Brad, you didn't have to bring them. My family and I just wanted to spend some time with you..."
-"Lee, would you introduce him to us, please?" said Howard.
-"Sorry Dad, here is my friend Brad. Brad, here is my father Howard and his wife Wendy and their friends, Jim and Helen."
-"Nice to meet you Brad." said everybody with a beautiful smile.

After the introductions, Brad observed "I had the opportunity to go to Hawaï for a movie and I spent a very good stay in this island. All is so marvellous! The weather, the colors, the flowers, the fruits, the lagoon... and the inhabitants are so kind!" Howard and Wendy told their wonderful trip then Howard asked Brad : "How long do you stay in London? What are your projects?"
Lee-Andre seemed embarrassed...

-"Oh! Mr. Astley, I can only stay a few days because I have to go to Canada next Saturday. I've been asked to perform in a new movie."
"What kind of movie will it be? Are you allowed to tell us? asked Howard.
"Yes, it will be a family story about an old couple who owns a sugar camp. They've been making the famous maple syrup for almost forty years. I'm lucky because I'll be the main character. Have you ever tasted it?"
"Not yet, but a friend of mine went to Quebec last spring and tasted that syrup. He was invited to a sugar camp. He ate lots of food with it: eggs in syrup, beans, pies etc and according to him, the most delicious dessert was the famous pancake with maple syrup on it. I hope to be able to taste it during my stay... He also told me that Quebec produced 90% of the maple syrup in the world. It must be an excellent product" said Brad.

- No ! Answered all of them .
- well ; she said... I went on a web site the other day , and hear what I found about it ... Nohomis (earth ) ; Manabush's grand mother , hero of many Indian legends is supposed to have been the first one to drill holes in the bole of a maple tree , and to pick up the sap . Manabush seeing that this sap was a syrup ready to eat went to see his grand mother and told her : Grand mother ! It is not very good for men that the Maple tree provides sugar so easily. If men can pick up sugar without working hard , it won't take very long before they become lazy . We have to make them work before they can consume this delicious sirup . It would be good that men have to splinter wood , and to spend nights to survey the syrup while it's baking .... Manabush didn't add anything more ; but as he was afraid that she didn't pay any attention to his words and that she would forget to take any measures to prevent men to become lazy , he climbed at the top of the Maple tree with a bucket full of water and poured all of the content inside the tree itself which had for effect to dissolve all the sugar the tree contained .
