Could you perhaps give us a context for your question, such as a specific sentence? If so, I could be more confident in my answer.
That said, in general yes it is the present perfect (simple) that is used to express the idea that an action has happened many times in the past and might not be done happening.
For example:
In my life, I have written 38,412,978 words.
Certainly this number will increase as I continue to live and write.
