Salut ! Voici un petit exercice sur les pronoms relatifs !
Complètez les phrases suivantes avec who, whom ou which seulement si nécessaire .
Ps : lorsque le pronom n'est pas utile, merci d'indiquer 0.
1/ Is that the book ......was on the table ?
2/ The man ..... phoned was a friend of mine.
3/ Have you anything ..... you'd like to sell ?
4/ The chair .... you're sitting on is an antique.
5/ The house ..... is for sale is at the end of the street.

Whom peut remplacer who quand il est complèment de la subordonnée relative, ou quand il y a une préposition, surtout dans la langue écrite.
Mr Brown is the man whom you met last week .
Juste pour indice il n'y a pas de whom dans ces premières phrases.

4/ explication pas de pronom puisque to sit on est un verbe prépositionnel !

Voici une petite leçon sur les pronoms relatifs :
Who :
Who a pour antécédent une personne : that's the woman who lives next door .
Which :
Si l'antécédent est un animal ou une chose, on se sert de which :
Give me the book which is on the table .
Le pronom 0:
On peut omettre le pronom relatif (pronom 0) lorsqu'il est complément d'une subordonnée relative ou qu'il y a une préposition.
Mr Brown is the man you met last week .
Whom :
Whom peut remplacer who quand il est complèment de la subordonnée relative, ou quand il y a une préposition, surtout dans la langue écrite.
Mr Brown is the man whom you met last week .
En fait dans cet exercice il n'y a pas de whom mais je le mets dans la leçon pour faire un petit rappel !

Excusez ce retard, mais pause du week-end oblige ....
Merci pour la correction... Je suis débutant et malgré l' étude de mon dico d' Anglais.. je n' arrivais pas à comprendre la différence d' utilisation de who, whom et which...

Attention je rajoute une petite difficulté :
Complèter par who, whom, which, that ou 0 . Deux pronoms peuvent remplir la même case .
1/The car .... he was driving was one of the fastest .... had ever raced.
2/ Some hooligans have been arrested, several of... are still being detained for attacking a youth .... was watching the match .
On commence avec ces deux petites phrases . Bonne chance !
