SYNONYMS
Set off
Set out means the same as set off, but is more often used about a long journey: e He set out on the lost stage of his round-the-world trip.
==> This is grammatically possible==> he set off.
RELATED WORDS
Take off
noun: take-off (This noun can be countable or uncountable.)
I hate flying, but fortunately it was a nice smooth take-off.
We are now ready for take-off.
OPPOSITES
The opposite of take off is land:
It was raining when we took off in Paris, but sunny when we landed in London.
