Hi,
What about telling us about your holidays?
As for me I spent a week in Turkey. I took the plane in Paris and flew for three and a half hours to Izmir. There a woman was waiting for us to drive us by bus to Kusadasi (pronounced kouchadaseu). She is a French woman who married a Turkish man five years ago. She is from Lievin, in the North of France. She confessed that her husband followed her to France but he didn't get used to the weather. It was a bit too wet and too cold for him. So, they went back to Turkey. He then became the manager of a hotel (not the one we went to) and she started working for a holidays group at the hotel where we went.
We arrived in the afternoon at the hotel which is based very close to the sea. How wonderful it is to have meals almost on the beach, listening to the waves and looking at the sun downing in the evening. We could have a glass, then go to the beach and as soon as we were thirsty come back to the bar and have another glass before swimming a little. It was very comfortable. I loved it.
Concerning the site, it was very beautiful. The beach was in front of us and on the right side, we had a view on the mountains. We even took a boat to some little beaches on the edge of these mountains. The water was like a warm bath.
And you'd say, what about Turkish people? They are really nice. They don't speak a lot of French, but if you can speak English, I assure you you can spend good time with them. I had the feeling that they didn't know what to do to please us. I have never met so nice people. I advise you to go there, really, you'll come back with so many souvenirs in your minds.
Now it's your turn.

Hello Jeanmi,
I'm happy to know you enjoyed your holiday.
My last holiday were on October 2004 when I went to Canada. I had to wake-up early because I had to take a train then a fly from Paris to Toronto. I arrived
This trajet was long but we were on holiday !
We visited several famous sites and towns. Every day, we woke-up early and went sightseeing. I saw wonderful sceneries which never, I'll forget. For example, we went to meet the whales on the St-Laurence Lake and it was really unforgettable ! I loved very much too taking the boat and going under the "Niagara Falls".
Canadian people were nice, with good-manners.
There is a thing I really dislike there, it was their coffee ! I remember that when I was in Montreal, I tried to find a bar serving expresso.
Now, I'm pining to do my next trip.

Last Sunday I came back from Malta where I spent 2 weeks for holidays. The weather was very sunny and hot (what is not the case for the moment in Luxembourg).
Beaches are rocks-beaches, only one is with sand and thus populated. The sea is clear with small coloured fish but a little too cold for me.
Inlanders are very pleasant people and all speak English, the second official language. It was helpful to review my English on this site before flying !
As people drive on the left side, we gave up to rent a car and we covered the island with old English buses (the oldest we took was 43 years). It was very funny and we had the feeling to come back in the past.
La Valetta and M'dina are on architectural point of view nice cities. But I'm a little disappointed : I imagined that with the history of "Knights of Malta" there were more interesting places to visit.
Although... laying on the beach with a good book or doing ... nothing are also part of holidays ;-))

Hello,
Last year , in september, I went to France for my vacation. The most wonderful is that I went there to meet my boyfriend. That's very good because I'm from Ocean Indian isle. To make 10 000 km for love it's great.
Every day he showed me different places like Eiffel tour, arc de triumph ... or every towns along the north coast. We visited museums , fairs. I had the opportunity to know French people. Their culture, tradition, their base of food and so on ..
So I spent my holidays with my love and we had a very nice time together.
In brief, I can say that France is very good and clean but life is very expensive.

Hello Jeanmi and everybody. I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!! And very happy to be there among all of you ! I know it's late to write all about my holidays right now but I don't manage to sleep! Actually I have shared my time between airports and planes since wednesday at 9.00am (
First I went to New York from August 31st to September 6th. Over there, we (two friends of mine and I) were in a very fancy YMCA with a lot of sports rooms: basket ball, bodybuilding, swimming pool....
In New York buildings are really high it's impressive! As soon as I arrived there I spent all my time with my head turning toward the sky!
I went to Central Park (besides, it was just next to the YMCA), this park is really huge, inside, we can find a little zoo, and the sight is great, tree, rock, foreign people have a walk (like me ) etc... and especially building's sight in the background! Besides, in NY, I found people
Well Chicago now . I went there from 6th in the evening
Well I really enjoyed myself and I'll never forget that trip!
Thanks Jeanmi and excuse me beforehand for my mistakes but it was long all the same!

Hello Jeanmi!
It's funny! I've also been in Turkey for one week in July 2005. More precisely in KUSADASI at Festival Akdeniz hotel...
The stay itself was good with kind people who like talking with curious tourists interested in their customs.
We were offered tea almost 4 times a day! It was quite impolite to say "sorry but we have been offered tea 3 times yet". So we accepted it like a warm sign of welcoming.
What I preferred was the minibus connecting Kusadasi centre city to hotels bordering the sea...too cute too tiny compared to French buses. But it was a way to explore directly Turkish

I took my flight in Lyon and flew straight to Dublin , and I rented a car to go to Cork .It took 3 hours and half by car , I enjoyed the trip because I could see so many
As soon as I arrived we had a big party for our holidays .
In fact my friend lives in a small village very close to Cork called Bailly cotton , all people I met were very friendly , I made them laugh
My friend made me visit
I stayed in a bed and breakfast during my trip, It has been a good experience ,then after 3 weeks I took another flight and flew to the south of Portugal , I stayed there 1 week , only to relax a bit because in Ireland I walked a lot ,after one month of holidays I came back at home .
My holidays seem

Hello,
It's my first time in this part of the site, so let's give it a try...
Last summer, I and my little family went back home to northern France and I must say it was good to be home again.
We spent one week in a small village between Lille and Dunkirk (our hometown), in the heart of Flanders. I know that Flanders does not make anybody dream and people prefer reading things about exotic trips and so on, but the place where you were born is always the best place in the world.
So we decided to play the tourists and visit Flanders like any other tourist would have done it. No native Flemish can talk about Flanders without mentionning "Godewaersvelde", a typical Flemish village, where houses are built with red bricks and small windows.
Flanders is the land of "taverns", a kind of Flemish pub where they will never serve this universally drunk soda, where you can drink perfumed and delicate beers brewed in the region. It's a social place where people share a lot, where you can meet friendly persons.
Unfortunately the north of France is known for its bad weather (not really true),its coal mines (though there are no mines in Flanders), for its very high unemployment rate etc... Maybe one day we will be famous for our sandy beaches where speed sail contests are often organised, for our delicious regional meals, who knows??

for this essay about North of France where I live too. Indeed it's a very rich region especially in the heart of its inhabitants. There are so many things to discover from the Flanders with Lille to the coast (Berck, Le Touquet, Boulogne) through the coal mine towns (Lewaerde where you can visit a coal mine museum) and the road to the coast with its typical small villages, the site called "Les 7 vallées", etc...

Me I spent my holidays in the west of France. The name of the town is "Les Sables d'olonne". It was a very pleasant stay. In my view, it's not very important to go far if you have fun. At "Les Sables d'olonne" you can find sea, sun and entertaiments, and it's only about 4 hours from Paris.
