Bon je me lance...
What a waste of time.
Nobody told me where the meeting was, so I've looked for the room (place?) for half an hour and I finally (eventually?) went back to my place. here, there (4)was a message on the machine saying the meeting had been called-off at the last minute. I wish someone told me earlier!
I spent the whole morning (forenoon?) to do nothing interesting. What a waste of time!

Bonjour Steeve 34
What a waste of time.
Nobody explained me where the meeting was taking place.
Then,I sought the room for a half an hour and I finally returned home.
Here, there was a message on the answering machine saying that the meeting had been canceled at the last minute.
I wish I had warned earlier per nobody.
I wish I had been warned earlier .
I have been spending all day long nothing interesting to do.
What a waste of time!
Denis

Hello Steeve,
A waste of time
Nobody had explained to me where the meeting occured. Then, I had looked for the room for half an hour and, at the end, I went back home. There was a message on my answering machine saying that the meeting had been cancelled at the last minute. I wish I had been warned before. I spent the whole morning doing nothing interesting. What a waste of time !

Bonjour à tous,
Voici quelques remarques générales.
1- Pour les anglais "time is money".
A savoir to spend; to waste; to save.
" What a waste of time !
to be;être + participe passé.
"No one had explained to me where....." qui est une construction correcte mais lourde.
3-To take place signifie avoir lieu; se dérouler; se passer.
EX: The wedding will take place in St Peter's Church.
The contest takes place every four years.
Pour rester neutre on utilise "to hold a meeting".
EX: A meeting will be held in the city hall on Thursday at 2 pm.
4-To seek ne convient pas.
to seek veut dire chercher dans le sens de chercher un emploi, chercher la solution d'un problème ou chercher l'âme soeur (Virgo woman seeks scorpio man).
5- Une demi-heure.
Half an hour ou a half hour.
6- I wish ......
EX: I wish I had more spare time.
I wish I could help you. (I wish I could help, implies that I can't
help).
7- To warn.
EX: "Be careful, the rocks are slippery", Alex warned.
EX: Can yo warn your wife you're going to be back late ?
Ici il est préférable d'utliser to tell /to inform/to let know.
EX: Why didn't you tell me that you would be late ?
8-Finalement peut se traduire par finally; in the end; eventually
9-Notez l'expression idiomatique
"At the eleventh hour"= at the last possible moment. A la dernière seconde.
Voici ma proposition.
What a waste of time !
I hadn't been told where the meeting was being held, so I looked for the conference hall for half an hour and eventuallly went home. Thre was a message on my answering machine saying the meeting had been cancelled at the last minute.
I wish I had been told earlier. I spent the whole morning doing nothing interesting.
What a waste of time !
Je vous remercie de votre participation.

PEUT-ON dire "I wish I should have been told"
lourd ou simplement incorrect ?Merci

Simplement incorrect. "Were" ou "had been" seulement peuvent convenir. Pas "should have been".
