Hello..........
.........quand je pense que je suis en vacances !!!
Jim demanda à sa mère où étaient ses chaussures car hier il les avait enlevées en rentrant et ce matin elles avaient disparu. Sa mère lui dit qu’elle n’en savait rien , qu’il avait dû les mettre quelque part dans la maison et que c’était à lui de les trouver. Au bout d’une heure il les trouva enfin dans le panier du chien qui avait passé la nuit à mordre les lacets. Sa mère lui dit que la prochaine fois qu’il enlèvera ses chaussures il ferait mieux de les mettre sur sa commode. Depuis Jim prend soin de ses chaussures.

j'ai vu de très bonnes traductions
oui je suis en vacances mais à la maison (avec les chevreuils ) , les poissons et le voilier c'est pour plus tard car mes copains travaillent l'été et je ne me sens pas de prendre le voilier toute seule, bien que je l'aie déjà fait en urgence par mer formée 
, et puis ça me passionne en effet de vous voir aussi motivé(e)s et de voir que certain(e)s font des progrès stupéfiants en ce moment See you soon

J'ai répondu par mp à Jardin sur sa question; je redis ici pour ceux que cela intéresse qu'il ne faut pas changer trop librement le texte initial à traduire, donc garder le style indirect qui est employé dans cette traduction;
Quant à "champ" que je ne connais pas, il ne peut sans doute pas convenir ici puisque c'est un terme spécifique aux chevaux apparemment;
Autre observation pour la traduction de Larenaudière : il a modifié complètement la phrase avec le panier du chien pour pouvoir traduire sans grosse difficulté ; non,non,non !!!

Fautes les plus courantes :
1) where his shoes were…..car c’est une question indirecte donc le verbe se met après le sujet
2) si vous dites « the dog’s basket which… » on ne sait pas si c’est le chien ou le panier qui a mordu les lacets !! on peut dire donc « the basket of the dog who… », « the basket of the dog which… », « the dog’s basket who… »
3) next time est considéré comme une conjonction de temps donc pas de futur après…
4) since….+ present perfect car l’action continue dans le présent
une divergence de traduction dans la phrase « his mother told him next time he takes his shoes off.. » car j’ai vu des “took off” alors que j’emploie le présent pour respecter le futur français car « took off » correspondrait à un conditionnel français, « la prochaine fois qu’il enlèverait ses chaussures » , mais bon je n’ai pas « chipoté » sur ce point précis. J’aurais peut-être dû, je ne sais pas.

J'ai mis "took off" pour respecter la concordance des temps en style indirect.
She said, "Next time you take off your shoes...."
She said next time he took off his shoes....
Mais comme le texte français ne la respecte pas, peut-être je n'aurais pas dû le faire non plus. (Peut-être que tu as pris "dit" comme passé simple pour "dit" comme présent?)
(Pareillement, j'ai mis the day before au lieu de "yesterday", et now that morning au lieu de "this morning".)

1) the day before = yesterday ; les 2 sont corrects
2) now that morning = this morning, c’est bon aussi
3) dans mon texte français: sa mère lui dit (passé simple) que la prochaine fois qu’il enlèvera (futur) ses chaussures…. Je respecte donc preterit + présent = his mother said……he takes off…..ce qui est différent de « sa mère lui dit(passé simple)……qu’il enlèverait (conditionnel ), donc…
sa mère lui dit = his mother said ( aucun changement pour la suite )
qu’il enlèvera = he takes off
qu’il enlèverait = he took off
En conclusion, ai-je fait une faute en français ? qui se répercute sur l’anglais si on respecte le texte français, ou bien doit–on de toute façon dire en anglais « his mother said…he took off… » ; à mon avis les 2 sont valables. Je précise que je n’ai pas compté faux pour les traductions avec « he took off » ; les avis éclairés sont les bienvenus !
