Hi everybody,

Voici un exercice sur le prétérit. Conjuguez le verbe entre parenthèses au prétérit simple ou au prétérit en BE+V-ING selon le contexte, puis traduisez les phrases.
Niveau débutant.

1. He (sit) in a café when I (see) him.
2. When I (go) out the sun (shine).
3. The boy (fall down) while he (run).
4. When the war (begin) we (live) in London.
5. The light (go out) while I (have) tea.
6. I (have) tea when the light (go out).
7. My friends (sing) when I (come) into the room.
8. While you (play) the piano I (write) letters.
9. He (eat) his dinner when I (go) to see him.
10. When my grandmother (go) for a walk she always (wear) gloves.

--> Quand je suis sorti, le soleil brillait.
3. The boy fell down while he was running.
--> Le garçon est tombé pendant qu'il courait.
4. When the war began we were living in London.
--> Nous vivions à Londres quand la guerre a débuté.
5. The light went out while I we were having tea.
--> La lumière s'est éteinte alors que nous prenions le thé.
6. I was having tea when the light went out.
--> Je prenais le thé quand la lumière s'éteignit.
7. My friends ~~was~~ were singing when I came into the room.
--> Mes amis chantaient quand je suis entré dans la pièce.
8. While you were playing the piano I was writing letters.
--> Pendant que tu jouais du piano, j'écrivais des lettres.
9. He was eating his dinner when I went to see him.
--> Il était en train de dîner quand je lui ai rendu visite.
--> Il dînait quand je lui rendis visite.
10. When my grandmother went for a walk she was always wearing gloves. (she would wear gloves)
--> Quand ma grand-mère allait faire une promenade, elle portait toujours des gands.

Je buvais le thé quand la lumière s'est éteinte.

My friends were singing when I came into the room.
Mes amis étaient entrain de chanter quand je suis entré dans la pièce.

While you were playing the piano I was writing letters.
Pendant que tu jouais du piano, j'écrivais des lettres.

He was eating his dinner when I went to see him.
Lorsque je lui ai rendu visite il était entrain de dîner.

When my grandmother went for a walk she always wore gloves.
Quand ma grand-mère partait promenade, elle portait toujours des gants.

5.La lumière s'est éteinte pendant que je prenais mon thé
6.Je prenais mon thé lorsque la lumière s'est éteinte
7.Mes amis chantaient quand je suis rentré dans la chambre
8.Quand vous jouiez au piano j'ecrivais des lettres
9.Il prenait son dîner lorsque je suis allé le voir
10 Lorsque ma grandmère (venait pour une marche)allait se promener elle portait toujours des gants.
