Superrrrr!

It's a try
Undoubtedly he could be a good husband, because above all he was a good (nice) and attentive person. Besides, he was tall, slim with fair hair. Which woman couldn’t be happy with such a man? Then, she asserted that he loved her and as far as she knew, she loved him. (she did too).
Seating at the canteen for lunch with women and girls, she narrated them how, during a first date, a young man had launched her a disagreeable word, and how Arthur had turned round almost flattening him against the wall. But women asserted that even if Doreen had a boy friend she wasn’t engaged yet and it was the most important thing because a boyfriend could go away one of these evenings without address to join him whereas when you were engaged he could hesitate.

Hello lucile,
He could also make a good husband, there was no question about that, for he was kind and full of consideration after all.
Moreover he looked handsome, tall, slim and fair-haired. Which women wouldn't be happy with a man like that one? Besides, she said, he loved her and as far as she knew, she loved him.
Sitting at the canteen, having lunch with the women and the maiden, she told them how during a first date, a young man had uttered her an unpleasant word, and how Arthur had turned round and almost flattened him against the wall.
But the women argued that even if Doreen had a boyfriend, she wasn't engaged yet and that was the most important. Because a boyfriend could vanish by a nice evening without leaving any address, whereas when you were engaged he had to think twice about it.

Because a boyfriend could disappear one fine evening without leaving an address, whereas when you were engaged, he thought twice about it.

Hello Lucile,
Here's my try :
"No doubt he would also make a good husband, for he was first and foremost good and attentive. Furthermore he was handsome, tall, slim and fair. What kind of woman would'nt be happy with such a man ? and, she maintained, he loved her, and, as far as she knew, she loved him too.
Sitting in the canteen for lunch with the women and the young girls, she told them how, at a first date, a young boy had hurled an unpleasant word to her, and how Arthur had turned round and almost flattened him against the wall. But the women upheld that, even if Doreen had a boyfriend, she was not engaged yet, and that this was all that mattered.
For a boyfriend could disappear one of these evenings without leaving an address, whereas when you were engaged, he had to think twice about it."
Waow very very difficult..

Bonjour Lucile,
He would be also good as a husband, no doubt about that, for he was, before everything, a just and attentive man. And what's more, he was handsome, tall, thin and blond. What woman wouldn't be light-hearted to be with such a man ? Furthermore, she claimed, he was in love with her and to the best of her knowledge, she loved him.
At lunch, as she was sitting in the canteen with the other ladies and young girls, she would tell them how, on a first date, a young man had uttered an unpleasant word against her and how king Arthur had turned round and almost crushed him flat against the wall. But the ladies argued that even though Doreen had a boyfriend, she wasn't engaged yet, and that was what mattered. For a boyfriend could vanish one nice evening without leaving any address, whereas being engaged would make him think twice about it.

Hello Lucile,
I do hope it’s not too late !
He would also make a good husband, there was no doubt about it, for he was first and foremost kind and attentive. On top of that, he was handsome, tall, slim and blond. What woman wouldn’t be happy with such a man ? And, she claimed, he loved her, and, as far as she knew, she loved him.
Sitting in the canteen for lunch with the women and the young girls, she told them how, during a first date, a young man had launched an unpleaseant word on her, and how Arthur had turned around and almost smashed him against the wall. But the women maintained that, even if Doreen had a boyfriend, she wasn’t engaged yet, and only that mattered.
Because a boyfriend could vanish into thin air one fine evening without leaving any address whereas when you were engaged, he thought twice about it.
Please, Lucile, break the suspense !
à toi

Hello,
et car j'ai vu de très très bonnes traductions
Voici ma proposition (tu vois Marie, je fais vite )
He would also make a good husband, there being no doubt of this because above all he was quiet and attentive. What’s more, he was good-looking, was tall, thin, had fair hair. What girl wouldn’t be happy with a man like that? Also, she affirmed, he loved her, and, as far as she could tell, she loved him.
Sitting with the women and girls over a canteen lunch she told them of how, on a first date, a youth had shouted an unpleasant word at her, and Arthur had turned back and nearly flattened him against the wall. But the women maintained that although Doreen may have a young man, she was not yet engaged, and that was what mattered. For a young man could flit away one fine night and never be heard of again, while if you were engaged he would think twice about it.
See you soon
