This article , talking about the future of the superdome, is extracted of the magazine " XXX", printed in september 2005, that is to say some days after the passage of the hurricane called " Katrina" in the United States , and more exactly in Louisina. This document tells us what became the superdome after the natural catastrophe. It received a lot of people who lost their house , and their affairs in the ruins.They were gathered in this enclosure because they couldn't leave the city ahead of the hurricane and they lived here for some days whereas Mens plundered shops outside. Thousands of people were cramed and stayed in a precarious situation : One could see scene of despair.
The damages were enormous, all was destroyed , ... ( je n'ai pas trouvé le verbe approprié pr traduire " ils s'élevaient") at millions of dollars.
According to the manager of the stadium, a damage assessement will take more than two monts so it is difficult to estimate all what is repairable or no. For make a damage assessment , it must ( au sens de il faut) that there is nobody in the building. Indeed , the last victims left the stadium at the beginning of september on buses.
The more worring for the rehabilitation of the stadium is that it wasn't equipped to shelter thousands of people but it were the matter.
The manager has yet decided nothing about the future of the dome.
He doesn't know if it will be repaired or if ti will be destroyed. In the same order spirit, the authorities hesitate to make reparation because that cost ( cela coûte) a minimum of 100 millions of dollars. THe future will say what decision has been taken but that is sure ( ce qui est sure) is that the dome will stay a symbol of the city of New Orleans.
I've chosen this article because I think that it's important to remind to the people in what situation the victims have been plunged. These people have lost all their life and that will take ( cela prendra) many years to rebuild a part of their hapiness. Let us hope that such a catastrophe will never reproduce.

Comme ton texte est assez long et plutôt bien écrit, je ne te signale en majuscules que les erreurs remarquées.

Je confirme ma première impression. Toutefois, je ne saurais trop te conseiller de manier le dictionnaire bilingue avec précaution : toujours vérifier dans la partie anglais-français que le terme que tu as choisi corresponde bien à l'acception voulue.
