Subject :
It can be quite difficult to learn a new language. What do you think are the most difficult aspects of learning a new language? Give reasons and examples to support your response.
----------------
Learning a new language is really something difficult for everyone. I think there are two main reasons to explain that. First, we must learn the structure of this language. Then, it’s more complicated to use our knowledge to communicate with other people.
When you want to learn a new language, it is required to learn the structure of this language. It is not simple to understand the vocabulary and grammar rules. For example, it will take several years for a baby to learn these rules. His first words will be considered as an exploit for his (or her) parents. Even if it would take less time for an adult to understand some basic words or sentences, it will require concentration. To illustrate, we can take my own experience since I have just starting to learn Spanish and I spend a lot of time to read definition word in my dictionary.
The structure is not the only aspect of a language. Indeed, I strongly believe that speaking and listening is more difficult. For example, I spend of lot time to improve my English skills. I watch a lot of English (or American) movies in original version. I also read some books and listen music but I’m not again a fluent English speaker. Moreover, people have their own way to speak, so it is really difficult to understand each word they say. As a result, I think it easier to try to understand the meaning and not all the words.
To conclude, it is really difficult to learn a new language. It requires time and hard working. I think the only way to become a fluent speaker with a language is to practice for several years in a country where people use this language.
