This is exactly what I was expecting to go on with the topic.

Our society uses to consider the intelligence quotient ( IQ ) to assert that somebody is intelligent or not. This is not wrong, as one does need an intellectual intelligence to be able to reach some knowledge and put them into practice.
But how would we explain that most of the people with a high IQ fail in life, while others who have a modest one succeed with hands down ?
This happens because there is another kind of intelligence : the emotional intelligence which we use to neglect.
We are born with the intellectual intelligence, mostly due to the functioning of the brain.
But the emotional intelligence is something we can and we must develop from our childhood. It means that we must learn how to handle with our feelings.
We need to know how to :
- control our emotions : fighting our fears and shyness. Then we can find fulfilment.
- be persevering : be patient with the hard lesson of life, and never act out of anger or too much innocent emotion either. This could lead us to a bad opinion from people and close many doors to success.
- motivate ourselves : try to make our dreams come true.
- respect people : know who we’re dealing with and give anyone what he really deserves. And for that, we must be able to make a distinction between what’s good and what’s bad.
Maybe there are other things we should know, but as for me, the ones I talked about are compulsory to reach strength and success in life.

So, to be intelligent, we don’t only need to have a very high intelligence quotient, we also have to know how to manage in order to know how to behave in life. By this I join Travis’s thought by saying : we should know the difference between the simple and the complex, master the simple, and be curious about the complex.
