Salut!
Voici un poème que j'aime bien. A mon avis, la simplicité du langage et l'effet doucement mélancolique des images créent un tout résonnant. Le poète n'est malheureusement pas bien connu.
Loneliness
by Lucy Horton
Loneliness is small and cold,
Diamond hard and eons old.
Loneliness is sharp and chill,
Like cold gray rain on a cold gray hill,
Like a tall black rock and a seagull’s cry,
Like an empty land and a sea and a sky,
Like a weed-grown track and a broken fence
Long since left to the elements
Loneliness...

Mice
I think mice are nice.
Their tails are long
Their faces small
they haven't any
Chins at all.
Their ears are pink
Their teeth are white,
They run about
The house at night.
They nibble things
They shouldn't touch
And no one seems
To like them much.
chin= menton
to nibble= grignoter

Choosing Names
Author unknown
When God had made the earth and sky
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
the fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finished
not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine
and give each one a name."
And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
and in the sky and sea,
the little creature said,
"Dear Lord,
there's not one left for me."
Kindly, the Father said to him,
"I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
and called you dog, My friend."

Toujours pour les fêtes de famille :
To My Parents, Thank You
You were always there
to help me
You were always there
to guide me
You were always there
to laugh with me
You were always there
to cry with me
But most important
you were always there
to love me
and I want to assure you that
I am always here
to love you

You can find hereafter a poem I learnt when I was in 2nd. Time flows by.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
--Robert Frost
bent=tordu
undergrowth=sous-bois
claim=appel
I like the doomy meaning of the end.

Whether we write or speak or do but look
We are ever unapparent. What we are
Cannot be transfused into word or book,
Our soul from us is infinitely far.
However much we give our thoughts the will
To be our soul and gesture it abroad,
Our hearts are incommunicable still.
In what we show ourselves we are ignored.
The abyss from soul to soul cannot be bridged
By any skill of thought or trick of seeming.
Unto our very selves we are abridged
When we would utter to our thought our being. suite 2

Whe are our dreams of ourselves souls by gleams,
And each to each other dreams of others' dreams.

Bonjour tout le monde, voici un autre poème en anglais
A Rose
by Elizabeth
A lovely rose with petals soft
A scent so sweet and light
So beautiful a flower
With colors shining bright.
But something not so savory
About the fragrant rose -
The thorns, so sharp upon the stem,
That sharpen as it grows.
Yet still lovely is the flower
Despite the thorns that prick
Just as life and love are sweet
They too have thorns that stick.
But do not fear to live or love,
Life's not exempt from pain -
So pick a rose, you may get hurt,
But you will also gain!
See you soon

Coucou en voici une autre de "Edgar Allan Poe"
Annabel Lee
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love,
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me;
Yes, that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we,
Of many far wiser than we;
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, - my darling,- my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
Bonsoir et bonne nuit à tous
Chatran

We are connected, My child and I,
by an invisible cord, not see by the eye.
It's not like the cord that connects
us 'til birth
This cord can't be seen by any on Earth.
This cord does its work right from the start.
It binds us together, attatched to my heart.
I know that it's there, though no one can see,
The invisible cord from my child to me.
The strenght of this cord is hard to describe.
It can't be destroyed, it can't be denied.
It's stronger than any cord man could create,
It withstands the test, can hold any weight.
And though you are gone,
Though you are nt here with me.
The cord is still there, but no one can see.
It pulls at my heart, I am bruised...I am sore,
But this cord is my lifetime, as never before.
I am thankful that God connects us this way,
A mother and child--Death can't take it away!

Last week at school I wrote this poem:
THANKSGIVING
When I go outside under the tree,
the leaves going dow to fall on me
the Automn is pa peaceful season
And we have happiness because we have freedom
My parents call for me
We eat a delicious turkey
It's a tasteful freast
For dessert carmel apple at least
The leaves are changing; they are colorful
Red, yello, orange, little purple, it's beautiful
The purity,
It's like a corn of plenty
Tonight we have a reception for each hour
Everybody is coming over
I have a great holiday
I give grattitude everyday

My snowman
My snowman had a lemon nose
And lemons for his ears.
His eyes were made of lemons slices,
Hair of lemon spears.
His teeth were candy lemon drops
That smiled in the shade,
But then the sun came out and turned him
Into lemonade.
By: Neal Levin It's a so funny poem.

bonsoir à tous
En voici une pour "Halloween"
HALLOWEEN MAGIC
A bald-headed ghost
Drank some witches' brew
And on top of his head
A strange thing grew.
It was pointed and tall
And black as a bat
With stringy long hair
Where his head was flat.
The sad little ghost
Didn't want any hair
Or a black pointed hat
So he said, "Witch beware!"
Then he chanted some words
With a spell-casting switch
And gave Halloween Night
A bald-headed witch!!

In memory of our child.
To My Husband...
Yours tears flow within your heart,
Mine flow down my cheeks.
Your anger lies with thought and movements,
Mine gallops forward all to see,
Your despair shows in your now dull eyes,
Mine shows in line after written line.
You grieve over the death of your son,
I grieve over the death of my baby.
But we're still the same, still one,
Only we grieve at diferent times...
Over different memories
and at different lenghts.
Yet we both realize...
The death of our child.

"If" by Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
And make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies;
Or being hated, don't give way to hating;
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream, and not make dreams your master;
If you can think, and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster,
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop, to build them up with worn out tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch and toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch -
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you - but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it
And - which is more -
You'll be a MAN, my son.
my dad loves that poem.
