Hi I'm not English, but it's just to tell you that you must say "aN English friend and not a English friend"
In general :
AN + a noun with a vowel at the beginning.
A + a noun with a consonant or a "h" at the beginning.

Choubidouou, I think you reversed (inverser) two rules.
A + a noun with a consonant at the beginning
An + a noun with a vowel at the beginning
