Hi everyone!!
I see that lots of memebers have difficulties in the differents uses of modals
I propose this exercise:
Re-write the following sentences using a form of "must" or "need"
1.It s our duty to respect the environment
We..........................................

2.It s forbidden to throw rubbish in the river
You...........................................

3.It s not necessary to check the battery.The car is brand new
You......................................................

4.Somebody is knocking on the door.I m 90% sure it is Mary
It...................................................

5.That computer is not reliable anymore.It is necessary to change it
We............................................

6.It is not necessary to phne him.he is coming to dinner tonight
YOU.................................................

7.It is forbidden to park your car on the pedestrian crossing!
You............................................
or ???? you tell me!!!

We must respect the environment.
You musn't throw rubbish in the river.
You don't need to check the battery..
It must be Mary.
We need to change it.
You don't need to phone him.
You musn't park your car...

1) - We must respect the environnement .
2) - You mustn't throw the rubbish in the river .
3) - You needn't check the battery ...
4) - ... It must be Mary .
