I would like to know what sort of instrument do you play or do you like.

the scales are :

"(music) a series of notes differing in pitch according to a specific scheme (usually within an octave)"

the whole caboodle = "et tout le tremblement"

I play the piano and the guitar and a little flute and violin.
Do you know accompany the songs with piano or guitar? I try to learn but I don't progress (or such slowly)

Sorry, I don't play any instrument (except maybe the "piano" in my kitchen), but I would like to ask something about the conversation :
Gewurz makes me laugh a lot in about all his posts and today I have learned "the whole caboodle" I hope I'll have the chance to place it one day ! But when he says "I used to play THE piano", I suppose THE is just for fun.
So, why does the excellent Kayrol write "I play the guitar, and am learning to play the piano" ? A mistake ? If not, we need an explanation !

Hello Celbaz,

I wrote "THE piano" because nobody before had written the definite article. And normally in english, with play, "the" must be written before a music instrument. BUT
I've just checked in a grammar book and... it sounds like american people have the propensity to leave it out.
so...
