Hello every body,

In our daily life, we listen and use "Boy Friend" or "Girl Friends" words. But at some stage, the boy and girl change to "man and Woman" respectively. But still we continue calling them in the same way. Why?
Let us find the answer from the learned people.

Please don`t think it is futile to ask "why" for such questions. This
querie is has been there in my mind for a long time.

Aussie.

You surely meant to write query instead of "querie", didn't you?

Hello
Please stop to talk about learned people. It may have been told this subject no needs instruction but heart and things we have been lived through experiences.
I don't really understand what you mean . In my mind a boy/girl friend means love affair, why did you say "the boy and girl change to "man and Woman" respectively. But still we continue calling them in the same way"? could you explain ?

Hello bridg,

I mean to ask that why we do not say manfriend or womanfriend. Even if we reach the age of 70, we still continue using the words boyfriend and girlfriend. It did not mean that I want to heart others. It may be that I could not explain my idea.
Really, I tell you that people here in this forum are well educated, genious and possess great knowledge. I was a fighter pilot. I am well qualified. I have seen half of the world. I am well experienced. But still I think myself zero or nothing infront of the members. My respectable word for the members has pinched you. I do not understand the reason of it.
OK.Thanks very much bridg.
Aussie.

Hello,
May be it's no use considering the age of your boy or girlfriend as it is a way to speak about them; in French we can speak of "petit(e) ami(e) " even if the guy is aged 70 ! it doesn't matter;
now instead of talking about "learned" people I'll join Bridg because I prefer talking about clever people or human beings; we shouldn't mix high level in education and intelligence; they are 2 different aspects of humanity.
On this site we are just friendly, that is the main purpose in life.
See you soon

Hello Aussie !
Nice question.
Maybe by still calling our beloved "boyfriend" or "girlfriend", we just want to mean that our heart never grows old. It keeps its brightness and purity as long as it's full with love.
It's a way of seeing and also showing what love is all about.
This is my personal opinion.
