what does 'con't' mean?

some years ago I bought a book about the TV series "friends" in England.
there was the script of some episodes and sometimes this word "con't" appears in brackets next to the name of the character like an indication or something...but what does it mean? I've never found the answer!

cont is a written abbreviation for continued..often used at the bottom of a page to show that the story..etc is not finished

That would be "cont'd". I personally have never heard of "con't".
