Choix du temps/ if
Message de titan posté le 18-02-2018 à 04:39:53 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,

1. I ... (give) you a cigarette if I had one, but I'm afraid I haven't.
2. This soup would taste better if it ... (have) more salt in it.
3. If you ... (not/go) to bed so late every night, you wouldn't be so tired all the time.
4. I wouldn't mind living in England if the weather ... (be) better.
5. I'd help you if I ... (can) but I'm afraid I can't.
6. If I were you, I ... (not/marry) him.
7. We would happily buy that house if it ... (not/be) so small.

Reponses:
1. I will give you a cigarette if I had one, but I'm afraid I haven't.
2. This soup would taste better if it having more salt in it.
3. If you didn't go to bed so late every night, you wouldn't be so tired all the time.
4. I wouldn't mind living in England if the weather was better.
5. I'd help you if I had canned but I'm afraid I can't.
6. If I were you, I will not get married him.
7. We would happily buy that house if it was not so small.

II.This time you have to read a situation and write a sentence with if.
Example: We don't visit you very often because you live so far away.
But if you didn't live so far away, we would visit you more often.
1. People don't understand him because he doesn't speak very clearly.
But if ..., people ...
2. I'm not going to buy that book because it's too expensive.
But if that book ...
3. She doesn't go out very often because she can't walk without help.
But if ...
4.He's fat because he doesn't take any exercise.
But ...
5. We can't have lunch in the garden because it's raining.
...

Reponses:
1.But if he will have spoken very clearly, people would understand him.
2.But if that book was not expensive, I would go to buy.
3.But if she will have walked without help, she would go out very often.
4.But if he does take exercise, she would not have fat.
5.But if it was not raining, we could have lunch in the garden.

hello!

I.
1.I would give you a cigarette if I had one, but I'm afraid I haven't. OK
2.This soup would taste better if it had more salt in it. OK
5.I'd(= I would!) help you if I would can but I'm afraid I can't.Can est un auxiliaire modal! et ici, il faut son passé, pas le conditionnel ! Attention de ne pas imiter "Si j'aurais su ..." qui commence aussi à se répandre en anglais ...)
6.If I were you, I would not have marry him.= conditionnel simple ici.

II.
1.But if he spoke very clearly , people would understand him.OK
3.But if she walked with help, she would go out very often. OK
4.But if he took some exercises, he would not be fate OK

Bravo ... Ne pas hésiter à revoir ces trois "formules" dans les jours qui viennent pour renforcer la connaissance !
