Bonjour,
Pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plait?J'ai traduit ce texte du français et j'aimerais savoir si la traduction anglaise tient la route, la voici donc:
Jacqueline gave me another gift in the early summer of 1990. She had been talking to me for a long time about her other godson, saying that it would be nice if we met one day. But as soon as she said those words, she shook her head, changed her mind. Would it be such a good thing? Did you have more to say to each other? Probably not. It's too early. This summer of agony, she decided that it was not too early and advised me to call her. Two days later, at the door of our apartment, located at rue de l'Ecole de Médecine, there was a boy, older than me, blue-eyed, red-haired, almost white and they are quite white today, Hervé just turned sixty. It was the kind of man who has long looked like a little boy, an old man, and never really an adult. The kind of man who at first sight does not make a special impression: a wall-pass, without apparent brilliance. We started talking, i mean, I started talking about myself and the crisis I was going through. I was talkative, feverish, confused, sneering, chain-smoking.
Even before I was starting a sentence I corrected it, clarified it, warning that it would be inaccurate, that what I had to say was in fact much more vast and complex. Hervé spoke without fear. Later, I learned to know his humor, but what baffled me at our first meeting was his complete lack of irony.
Merci d'avance

Hello, the English seems generally good, but it's hard to know whether it's a good translation without the original text.
See you.
