Bonsoir !
Pourriez-vous m'aider à corriger cette nouvelle notion s'il vous plaît ?
Merci beaucoup par avance !

UNLIKELY RELATIONSHIP

I'm going to talk about the theme of Unlikely Relationship. An unlikely relationship is when people who are very different become close to each other, and build an unexpected relationship despite themselves. We can wonder how this theme is developed in literature and art in general ? Fisrt I will talk about an extract from the novel The Help, then I will present an extract of Mice and Men, and finally I have chosen the film Gran Torino.

To illustrate this theme, we studied extracts from the novel The Help, written by Kathryn Stockett and published in 2009. It tells the story of black maids who work for white people. The scene is set in Jackson Mississippi, a southern state.
The first extract takes place in front of Aibeleen's house, in a black district. Aibeleen is a black maid. She helps white people raise their children.
Miss Skeeter, the other main character who is a white privileged woman, has come to visit Aibeleen because she wants to ask her if she allows her to interview for a book about the living conditions of black maids. When Miss Skeeter asks Aibeleen to help her about writing her book, in fact she doesn't think it's possible to write such a book. She asks Miss Skeeter many questions that proves how afraid she is. She wants Miss Skeeter to realize how dangerous that kind of colaboration can be. Aibeleen and Miss Skeeter will be friends and they will fight for the same cause. The characters are very unlikely to be friends. Indeed in the 1960's in the USA, such a friendship was impossible. It was in fact not even tolerated by the Americans. However the main characters of the book will have to cross boundaries, and they will be real friends.

Then I will speak about Of Mice and Men. This novel was published in 1937, just after the Great Depression. It is the story of Lennie and George, two migrant workers in Salinas California. Both men dream of owning a farm with animals. Their dream won't come true. In this extract, George and Lennie are outside sitting around a campfire. They are speaking. George looks morose, cross. He is fed up with Lennie. He has had enough of Lennie's childlike attitude. Lennie suggests he should live apart but George knows Lennie will never be able to survive alone. Lennie is as strong as a bear. He is simple-minded. He loves taking care of mice, but he is so strong that sometimes he kills them. George and Lennie travel together. They have a father-son relationship. A father is supposed to raise, protect and punish his children when he does something wrong. A father usually tells his children off when he missbehaves, and that's what George does with Lennie. They are an unlikely pair.

Gran Torino is a film by Clint Eastwood, and tells the story of Walt Kowalski, a racist American man who became close to his Hmong neighbors. At the beginning of the film he hated his neighbors, because of their origins, and had a lot of clichés about them. But time after time, he created links with them despite himself and particularly with a young boy named Thao. He finally reconsidered his opinions and realized that they are people like him. He understood racism was stupid and changed his mind. He even sacrifided himself to protect them. Thao and Mr Kowalski formed an unlikely pair.

To conclude we can say that the theme of Unlikely Friendship is frequent in literature an art in general. The three extracts illustrate the way this theme is developped, through the differences of these people and what brings them closer.

Hi! here's my attempt:

UNLIKELY RELATIONSHIP

I'm going to talk about the theme of Unlikely Relationship. An unlikely relationship is when people who are very different become close to each other, and build an unexpected relationship despite themselves. We can wonder how this theme is developed in literature and art in general. (that is not a question) Fisrt I will talk about an extract from the novel The Help, then I will present an extract/excerpt from Mice and Men, and finally I have chosen to talk about the film Gran Torino.

To illustrate this theme, we studied extracts from the novel The Help, written by Kathryn Stockett and published in 2009. It tells the story of black maids who work for white people. The scene is set in Jackson, Mississippi, a southern state.
The first extract/excerpt takes place in front of Aibeleen's house, in a black district. Aibeleen is a black maid. She helps white people raise their children.
Miss Skeeter, the other main character who is a white privileged woman, has come to visit Aibeleen because she wants to ask her whether she allows her to interview her for a book about the living conditions of black maids. When Miss Skeeter asks Aibeleen to help her about writing her book, in fact she doesn't think it's possible to write such a book/writing such a book is possible. She asks Miss Skeeter many questions that proves how afraid she is. She wants Miss Skeeter to realize how dangerous that kind of colaboration (spelling)can be. Aibeleen and Miss Skeeter will be friends and they will fight for the same cause. The characters are very unlikely to be friends. Indeed in the 1960's in the USA, such a friendship was impossible. It was in fact not even tolerated by the Americans. However the main characters of the book will have to cross boundaries, and (they) will be real friends.

A father is supposed to raise, protect and punish his children when he does (a child = sg/children = pl) they do something wrong. A father usually tells his children off when he missbehaves, and that's what George does with Lennie. They are an unlikely pair.

Gran Torino is a film by Clint Eastwood, and tells the story of Walt Kowalski, a racist American man who became close to his Hmong neighbors. He understood racism was stupid and changed his mind. He even sacrifided (spelling) himself to protect them. Thao and Mr Kowalski formed an unlikely pair.

To conclude we can say that the theme of Unlikely Friendship is frequent in literature an art in general. The three extracts illustrate the way this theme is developped through the differences of these people and what brings them closer.

Bonsoir ineseda et vaiana,

Deux petites remarques:

... to ask her whether she allows her to interview her... trop de "her", et désignant des personnes différentes, cela devient confus. Suggestion : to ask her whether she accepts to be interviewed ...
She asks Miss Skeeter many questions that proves prove (antécédent pluriel) how afraid she is. (ou many questions, which proves (ce qui ...) how afraid she is.
