Hello
The rule is: put the sentences below onto their passive form when it is possible.
Thanks for helping me to correct them

2. We will take care of all the formalities.
All the formalities will be taken care of (by us).
3. Some people think the proposed legislation is unworkable.

4. I refuse to answer your questions.
IMPOSSIBLE.
5. The accountants are looking into the matter.
The matter is being looked into (by the accountants).

Hello.
There is a problem with the first one. Verbs like make and have, meaning to cause somebody to do something, cannot have two verbs together like that (made work); the object follows the first verb.
I had my students take notes.
His argument made me change my mind.
For a passive sentence, the object needs to change places with the subject. Therefore...?
Keep up the good work!
Sherry

Hello Sherry. Thanks for your reply.
I have to use a "to" here, don't I?
What would give... I was made to work late (by the boss).
See you!

Hello.
It sounds a little odd, but it follows the model for the sentence I would prefer, I was forced to work late by the boss.

But is it passive?

It is an oddity, but the passive form of the causative structure "make (sb) do" is "made to do". This even though it results in an ambiguity ("I was made to love you" : made = created? or forced?)
The best advice is to avoid trying to put causative structures into the passive voice.
See you.
