I have a question, could you please help me ?
I saw this sentence and it's quite strange for me :
How are we to interpret that ?
When I translated it :
Comment peut-on interpréter cela ?
I couldn't figure out the use of the verb "to be" here.
The following sentences are more "normal" for me :
How do we interpret that ?
How can we interpret that ?
Could you please explain the difference.

How are we to interpret that ? 'are we to' est équivalent à 'must/should'.
Comment sommes-nous supposés interpréter cela?
