Hello dears,

Here is (again! ) an easy exercise that everyone can do.

1. Difference? Indifference?

2. ‘You never have a second chance to make a first impression…’

3. What would be your ideal present for Xmas?

4. Do you believe in solidarity?

Go for it! with THE FORCE.

Hello dears!

Here is our first (very fast) ANSWER: please, indicate what you think is wrong, and underline what looks clumsy.

TOPIC3
what would be your ideal present for Xmas?

For me, the best thing about Christmas is being together as a family.
Preparing a special Christmas meal, taking part in the young children's joy, seeing their dazzled eyes shine in front of the twinkling lights, the porcelain plates and crystal glasses, all the tinsel and colorful baubles. Watching everyone anxiously unwraping their packages and their happy surprise, this is my greatest gift.
Apart from that, I never ask for anything other than a box of chocolate liqueur or sugar-coated chestnuts, which I love. Often somebody adds a book and I am happy with that.

for your work and for your help!

Do you believe in solidarity? Yes I do
We are seeing the solidarity everyday in Spain where the rivers are overflowing and caused floods.
Solidarity is the best thing in this world.
It allows a lot of people to survive or to improve their lives.
without solidarity thousands of people wouldn't be able to eat or be traited in poor countries.
thanks to solidarity the life is more beautiful and makes sense.

I PREPARE a special Christmas meal, taking part in the young children's joy, I CAN SEE their dazzled eyes shine in front of the twinkling lights, the porcelain plates and crystal glasses, all the tinsel and colorful baubles.

s'embrouille. J'y passe un temps fou, je ne m'en sors pas ...
JE vous prie de m'excuser.

Hello dears!

No green for ANSWER B? Pity!

Here is ANSWER C: please indicate possible mistakes and suggest solutions (from the 13th)

Of course, if we are thinking about what happened in Spain, the terrible floods and all the missing people and kids, the devastation of people' homes and the impossibility to live or even survive, the Solidarity we saw on Tv is great. Thousand young people have come during their days off to help cleaning the thick and sticky layers of mud covering everything: the streets, the houses, all the furnitures. Some persons have lost evrything and even the members of family... Kids are missing, and many adults are missing also. The young who help cannot do anything to releve that... How can you help parents that lost a kid or several kids? There are limits to the solidarity, but helpers should know that brooms and brushes can make people aware of sympathy and empathy... and perhaps give hope again.

for your help!

Hello!

Here is ANSWER C: please indicate possible mistakes and suggest solutions

Of course, if we are thinking about what happened in Spain, the terrible floods and all the missing people and, including kids (kids are people), the devastation of people's homes and the impossibility to live or even survive (a bit exaggerated) , the solidarity we have seen (better than "saw", I think on TV is great. Thousands of young people (des milliers) have come during their days off to help cleaning clean the thick and sticky layers of mud covering everything: the streets, the houses, all the furnitures furniture(uncountable). Some persons/people ("persons" does exist but is not usual) have lost everything and even the members of their families... Kids are missing, and many adults are missing also. The young who help cannot do anything to releve relieve that... How can you help parents that have lost a kid one or several kids? There are limits to the solidarity, but helpers should know that brooms and brushes can make people aware of sympathy and empathy I don't understand this "should" and the whole sentence is not clear ... and perhaps give hope again.

Topic 3. What would be your ideal present for Xmas?

I have a very clear idea of my ideal Chrismas present: I guess you'll find it somewhat selfish, but I hope that after reading this, you'll think I quite deserve it. For, would you believe it, I have never been to England, or to any country where I could enjoy speaking and living in an English way! Therefore, I'm dreaming of a one week stay in a typical cozy cottage, with warm English country-style furniture and cutlery. Very 'cliché', isnt'it? The neighbour would be a nice old lady, and we would happily gossip about the Royal Family (among other topics...); of course there might be some rain, but what could be better than having a stroll in the good old English rain! Anyway, I suppose that once more, no one will give me this gift, and I am seriously considering simply treating myself to it... 'Charity begins at home'! 155words

for your help!

(The solidarity/, the rivers...) (the solidarity that was shown when.../ the solidarity of young people who...)

Hello

En ce qui concerne "No one will give me a gift", je me demandais seulement s'il était gênant d'avoir "give" et "gift" dans la même phrase.

Hello!
Il est possible de mettre un synonyme : 'No one will give me a gift'-> 'No one will offer me this gift'.
Spontanément, j'aurais utilisé une forme passive... I most certainly won't be offered this dream gift... Tout ça est possible...
