Bonjour, pouvez vous lire et éventuellement m'aider à corriger les différentes fautes se trouvant dans mon essai. Merci d'avance.
Who is the most important figure in the history of mathematics according to you? Why?
The most important figure in the history of mathematics in my opinion is zero.
It appeared three times in the history of numerical systems developed by different peoples and civilizations
It is at the beginning of the 20eme century that zero will be considered to be a number in full measure and not as a simple figure
Different application of the number zero:
-It is now at the core of our system of temperature measurement.
0°C: Passage temperature of the water in the solid state (ice) in the liquid state
0 K: Absolute zero, the lowest temperature possible (-273,15 °C)
-It is also at the heart of the informatic system.
Indeed computer scientists are accustomed to counting from 0, not 1
In the base ten we use the figure as far to the right shows the units, the second digit indicates the tens ....
-The zero plays a particular role in the system arithmetic
If we had a whole number of dozens (eg three dozen, thirty), there is no residual unit.
Therefore, there must be a character who shows that the 3 corresponds to the dozens, and this character is 0; Thus, we understand that "30" stands for "three dozen" .. "
Thus, it is just a convenience rating.
-The zero is also used as a lack of quantity

Hello profet,
Je ne sais pas quelques études tu suis mais je me demande s'il n'y a pas un malentendu sur le mot "figure"
-il est vrai que "figure" peut signifier "chiffre"
-mais dans la question il y a "who is the most important figure..." et non pas "which", ce qui laisse à supposer qu'il s'agit d'un être humain (qu'en penses-tu Traviskidd ?
)Cela dit, il n'est peut-être pas interdit de sortir des sentiers battus et de considérer le Zéro comme une "personne", vu son importance en Mathématiques.
Dans ce cas il faudrait mettre "Zero" et pas "the zero" et peut-être étoffer un peu le contenu mathématique
Je te laisse décider de ta stratégie avant de corriger
Je te laisse aussi relire pour corriger quelques erreurs faciles (marque du pluriel, 20eme à mettre en Anglais,place de l'adjectif...et il y a au moins une phrase qui ne veut rien dire

Mais magstmarc a raison.
"Who is.." Qui est?
pas "Which is.." Quel est?"
Plus on aurait dit "number" au lieu de "figure"
Il s'agit bien d'une personnage ici.

Oui bien sûr que "who" veut dire qu'il s'agit d'une personne (par ex. Dirichlet, Euclid, Euler, Wiles...).
Aussi "dozen" veut dire "douzaine", pas "dizaine". Le mot pour "dizaine" n'existe en anglais qu'au pluriel: "tens".
Bien que "dozens" peut signifier "dizaines" si la différence entre 10 et 12 n'y importe pas: Dozens of people were hurt in the accident.
