A complaint letter
Message de anae64 posté le 30-09-2009 à 15:51:09 (S | E | F)
Bonjour
Dans le cadre de ma préparation au "First Certificate of English", je dois écrire une lettre de réclamation concernant des vacances.
Pouvez vous, s'il vous plait, me corriger les fautes qui se seraient glissées au milieu de mon essai?
Merci d'avance.
Anae
Dear M. McConnell,
With reference to your letter, I want to express you my displeasure about all the changes linked to my holidays.
Firstly, I chose your company owing to the Olympic-size swimming pool and the world-famous chef. I have planned to use sports and entertainment facilities and eat tasty little dishes during my stay. So, you could easily understand that, if both of these services won’t be available, I’m not as motivated as before to spend holidays on your Ocean Hotel.
Moreover, I am very angry to receive such letter only two weeks before the beginning of my holidays that I have already paid in full.
Even if I am aware that the circumstances are beyond your control, I find that the change of programme is too important. I am sure you are an honest man and I expect to be given my money back.
Yours sincerely

Hello,
If you are writing to a named person, address them as Dear Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms, and end Yours sincerely, followed by your first name and surname.

For the M. instead of Mr., it's a big mistake. Sorry.
About the end of the letter, I intentionally remove my real name;)
Thanks for our help

"Dear M. McConnell,

So, you could easily understand that, if both of these services won’t ( temps à revoir, votre phrase est au preterit, donc votre futur devient un " would" qui a la valeur de Will au passé) be available, I’m not as motivated as before to spend holidays on (préposition) your Ocean Hotel.
Moreover, I am very angry to receive such letter only two weeks before the beginning of my holidays that I have already paid in full ( je mettrais plutôt un adverbe basé sur full, placé à un autre endroit).
Even if I am aware that the circumstances are beyond your control, I find that the change of programme is too important. I am sure you are an honest man and I expect to be given my money back.
Yours sincerely
Voilà sinon, cela toujours aussi bon ( pas de fautes graves)

Tout d'abord merci pour cette correction.
Concernant les trois points qui posaient problème :
- j'ai remplacé "to spend holidays on your Ocean Hotel" par "to spend holidays in your Ocean Hotel"
- "I have already paid in full" par "I have already fully paid"
- et enfin (je suis un peu moins sûre de moi) : ". So, you could easily understand that, if both of these services would not be available, I am not as motivated as before to spend holidays in your Ocean Hotel."
Bonne journée
Anae
PS : Cette fois ci promis je ne crée pas de nouveau sujet. Trois essais d'anglais en une seule après midi c'est bien suffisant ;) (à bon entendeur)
