I really need your help to complete this sentence accurately:
when the show is over, you will put down the posters, WON'T YOU?
or:
when the show is over, you will put down the posters, WILL YOU?
Thank you very much!

One hour's detention!

This isn't what you asked about, but I thought that I should point this out:
One puts a poster up (attaches it to the wall, where people can read it.)
However, one takes a poster down (removes it from the wall and throws it away).
If you say that somebody put a poster down, it means that they were holding the poster in their hands, and then they laid it down on a flat surface. In the same way, one could put a cup down, put a pencil down, put a book down, etc.
I hope this helps you think about your assignment,
Best - krnntp

Definitely you are right, Seb06000 and Lucile83, but it's not me who should be put on detention. This sentence is from a test on the advanced level:
Down/Again (Phrasal verbs)
Complete the sentences choosing the right verb
(look on question number 2), you will see.......

A test question? Really? The grammar is so iffy.
I'm forced to imagine a "show" where somebody holds a sheaf of posters - perhaps they wave the posters around, and dance? - and somebody else who is afraid that after the show, this performer doesn't plan to relinquish the posters.
Very strange.
Best regards - krnntp

You can also "put down" a person by insulting him.
And you can "put down" a cat or dog by euthanizing it.
- Do you support euthanasia ?
- Of course! I support youth everywhere, including in Asia!

Good morning
Sorry for being out of the subject: the hour's detention is not for you May, it is for me It is a child-like game between Lucile and I when I do any spelling mistake
No worry!
Traviskidd: We should avoid your puns drinking a coffee when we're still dozing
Sorry let's come back to the subject matter

it was not really a spelling mistake seb, it was a missing verb.
I found the test and I changed the verb in question 2.
Thanks krnntp
