Un texte au passé/Holidays

Salut! Je dois écrire un texte qui raconte mes vacances d'hiver, mais je ne sais pas si je dois utiliser le Prétérit ou le Present Perfect, en fait, je ne vois pas trop la différence. Alors j'ai écrit un premier brouillon, pouvez-vous me le corriger et m'expliquer la différence des deux temps? Merci.
During the Christmas holidays I bought gifts and invited friends. I like the Christmas holidays because there is the feast of Christmas and New Year.
We invited lots of friends to party (j'aimerai dire ''faire la fête'') and we receive many gifts. For Christmas, I received a DVD, money, chocolates, perfume, candy, make-up...
But what I like, is having fun with my friends. For example, a few days ago, I went to a karaoke with a friend and we had had a good time. Tomorrow we are going to the bowling. In a few days, we will be in 2010.
We are going to go to party. And the rest of the holidays, I'm going to revise my vocybulary of English and German, go to the cinema...and the holidays will be finished!
Je ne suis pas très forte en expression écrite anglaise, je suis sûre qu'il y a des fautes qui font mal aux yeux, et je m'en excuse. Merci pour votre aide!^^

vous dites ne pas connaître ces temps, il y a tout ce qu'il faut, il suffit d'aller les consulter ils sont fait pour vous.La différence entre les deux temps en image:
