About had to

Hello,
i did in the past of active-passive voice and i don't understand something
I don't understand these sentences:
active : He had to open the door
passive : the door had to be opened by him
I do not understand about " HAD TO " I just know about had + v.3 = past perfect but I have never seen had + infinitive.
How to use it please ?
and the meaning of had+ infinitive is ?
I am not good at English and I try all my best to practise myself.

Hello,
To have to + infinitif is like "must"
He has to open the door = present of to have to (must)
he had to open the door =past of to have to (must)
