Intro/décolonisation

Hello, everybody
Je m'entaine sur une introduction, pourriez-vous me dire si mon introduction est correcte?
There was a favorable context to the decolonization, the 2nd World War had weakened and reduced the influence of powerful countries such as France and Great-Britain. The colonies had required their freedom because they helped the metropolis. Some people underlined that the cost of colonies was expensive and it was better to trade with the United States of America and turn to the construction of Europe. Occidental public opinion had understood that colonization didn’t brought progress to the colonized. Moreover, the colonized were well-educated. With the progress of the information, it was impossible to repress the colonies of brutal way than 1940.
How did the decolonization evolve after 1945? What ways did the independent countries follow?
On the 1st part, we are going to speak about the decolonization by the negotiation; on the 2nd part about the decolonization about the violence and to finish we are speaking about the Third World and its evolution.
Pourriez-vous me corriger les erreurs éventuelles s'il vous plait?
Merci pour vos réponses.
Cordialement,
yaonee

I prefer to use 'weakened' instead of had weakened
We say 'required' not had required and 'had helped' not 'helped'
A simple word like 'said' would be better than 'underlined'
I pefer to say 'and improve the constuction of Europe'
It's better to write 'understood' than to write 'had understood' and we dont say 'didn't brought' we say 'didn't bring'
We say 'colony' not colonized which is the verb. It's better to write'The colony was well-educated.' I prefer to use hard or harsh to use 'brutal' . We are going to 'talk' about by negotiation not 'the negotiation' Not 'speaking' but 'talking'
Thank you !
