"Advertising is the art of convincing people to spend money they don’t have for something they don’t need » :
Will Rogers says that « advertising is the art of convincing people to spend money they don’t have for something they don’t need », is it true or false ? I can't say, but I think that everyone has his or her own opinion on this topic.
To my mind, first of all, I think that nobody can force someone to buy something he o she does not really need because, people have to control themselves: though it is easier to tell than to do. Everyday we see many sorts of advertising whether it is at home, in the street, on the internet, or on the newspaper. Our minds are permanently teased and catched. By the way, we also hear about a new product by the world-of-mouth. We are always looking forward to a new product in the advert. Why we do that ? Because we desperately want to be fashionable, on the cutting edge of technology. So advertising is a great medium to promote things in order for people to spend their money. It also could be misleading advertising but producers do everything to find good ideas to sell their product. In any case, everyone is free to do what he or she wants. The advert is just here to talk people into doing something.

Hello,
Trois choses à revoir en priorité :
La conjugaison de "catch" (verbe irrégulier)
La construction de la forme interrogative : Why (...) we do that ? (il manque un mot)
... because people have to control themselves = en français ça donnerait "personne ne peut forcer quelqu'un à acheter quelque chose parce qu'il faut que les gens se contrôlent."
Est-ce vraiment ce que vous vouliez dire ?

Hello,
En anglais on dit " but it is easier said than done" rather than (au lieu de)"though it is easier to tell than to do".
EX: She sais to John she was going to the market.
Ex: She told John she was going to the market.
But it is easier to tell PEOPLE than doing so"
