I am going to talk about the notion of Spaces and Exchanges. This notion deals with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between men and different societies. Our world is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces. The different cultural, economic, sociological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern world. We will development in three axes around spaces and exchanges : trade, globalization and the internet and its various means of work and communication. First, we will discuss the notion of trade. Today, I think we can say that much of our society is based on trade and exchanges of materials around the world. Trade refers to the economic activity of purchase and resale of materials and services in order to make a profit. As I was saying, todey trade is largely global, facilitated in part by the desire to buy a multitude of différents products further and country-specific and other hand by the technical means were willing today and which facilitate transport across the world. This is largely accentuated by globalization which we’ll talk. Indeed, the world todey is largely « shaped »(façonné) by globalization. Globalization is the term for the market opening process (for trade) and the reconciliation of men, resulting from trade liberalization. Today, globalization promotes largely commercially but also the exchanges of informations or human flows. It is accentuated partly the desire of human societies and on the other hand by today’s technologies. Technological advances make it’s never been easier to travel around the world today, or to exchange information. Finally, internet and remote working and communication means, are a factor in today’s globalization. Indeed, todey the internet allows to work remotely, and even across the world, thanks to the data stream or emails for example. Social network are also a great way to exchange and communication. I think they have changed the way we communicate. At the same time, they brought the opportunity to follow and communicate with anyone anywhere at any time. They also allow to follow the news in the world, as news websites. All this makes great use of the opportunities offered by the Internet in the context of global trade. But you still have to be careful because in the long run, this could become harmful (néfaste) and makes us dependent. To conclude, we have seen thus seen as spaces or contries are no longer limited to the exchange of all sorts, whether material as information. Today’s technologies allows to exchange and communicate easily, thanks to the Internet, facilitated by a context of globalization.
