Message de marit64 posté le 07-05-2015 à 00:26:35 (S | E | F)
everybody!

Find the missing vowels and unscramble the consonants in order to get the right word.

You'll be lucky this week because I'm giving you the number of vowels in 5 out of 10 answers. I understand you have so much work to do around the house at this time of the year.

1- To divide something into two equal parts. ..... (vhl) 2
2- A hole (usually in the middle of a road or pavement) through which someone may go to inspect sewers. ..... (nlhm)
3- A large fire in the open air often built to celebrate something. ..... (fbrn) 3
4- A large yellow-skinned fruit similar to an orange. ..... (ftpgrr)
5- The act of giving birth to a child. ..... (tchhdrlb) 2
6- An object on land that serves as a guide to seamen or others. ..... (mlknrd) 2
7- A flash of electricity between clouds or from a cloud to earth during a storm, usually followed by thunder. ..... (nnltggh)
8- A group of animals of one kind that stay, or are kept, together. ..... (rhd)
9- A synonym of "dryness". ..... (hdtrg) 2
10- The rottenness of the teeth. ..... (rcs)

Good luck and have fun!

Have a very nice week!

So long

. Hello very dear marit and all ,
Sorry I didn't have much time these passed days , working on the site . Hope you are well and happy with warmer days , now . Never too late ...

1 ) To halve = divide into two equal pieces, otherwise you upset big brother or little sister !!!
2 ) a manhole : is it un nid de poule ? Ou une bouche d'égout ?!
3 ) a bonfire as we have on June 'la fête de la St Jean' et ses amoureux !!
4 ) a glapefluit ....uh ! A grapefruit when it is well pronounced !
5 ) Childbirth > delivery said to be ' without pains , painless ' Did a man say so ? Yet ,' the inventor ' must have .
6 ) a landmark .
]7 ) lightning , like Uncle Otis struck by ligthning !
8 ) a herd of sheep = shepherd and shepherd's dog and Shepherd's bush ( 2nd 'h'mute ' as a London underground station .
9) drought ( not to confuse with draught or draft ( brouillon ) and dandruff ( pellicules )
10 ) caries and too many sweets !!!

' Someone' seems to have been skipped ! Coming back in a minute !!! By Jupiter , it was 'lightning ' : really funny !
Have a lovely 'long ' week-end , friend ! Keep on going as soundly as you can . Take care ! See you . Love from A . violet xx and XO.
