Bonjour,
Some assumptions made about the working of curviameter or deflectograph (no deflection or flat slope at a certain distance of the load, etc.) have led a probably difference between the measured deflection bowls and those real, under the whole truck. This is particularly true if the pavement is semi-rigid or rigid for which the obtained deflection bowl is very extensive. In addition, the maximum deflection value is often underestimated. Therefore, the interpretation of these bowls has become more complicated and back-calculation of pavement layers modulus has provided inconsistent results.
In order to correct these measured bowls, an approach have been developed using an empirical model of deflection bowl under a single wheel based on three parameters. By superimposing the loads, the simulation of devices for measuring the deflection can be done while maintaining their measuring principle. The parameters are optimized by minimizing the difference between the measured and simulated bowl. Thanks to this process, a deflection bowl under a single-wheel could be inferred from that recorded. Then, it is used to determine either a simplified estimate of the mechanical properties of pavement or indicators applied for the FWD or information on the pavement design (dmax under a dual-wheel).
To validate the efficiency of this approach, some comparisons have been made between the deflection bowl from the model and reference measures from an anchored sensor or a FWD (crossover trials on FWD/Deflectographs/Curviameter/anchored sensors in April, 2016 and BRRC data files).
Encore merci

Hello.
I assure you that I know nothing about this subject, but here are some things to take another look at...
Some assumptions made about the working of curviameter or deflectograph (no deflection or flat slope at a certain distance of the load, etc.) have led ___ a probably (or a different word?)difference between the measured deflection bowls and those
In order to correct these measured bowls (the measurement of these bowls ?), an approach have been developed using an empirical model of __ deflection bowl (either an article or plural form) under a single wheel based on three parameters. By superimposing the load(s), the simulation of devices for measuring (the) deflection can be done while maintaining their (the?) measuring principle. The parameters are optimized by minimizing the difference between the measured and simulated bowl. Thanks to this process, a deflection bowl under a single-wheel could be inferred from that (which was/from what was ?) recorded. Then it is used to determine either a simplified estimate of the mechanical properties of pavement or indicators applied for the FWD or information on the pavement design (dmax under a dual-wheel).
To validate the efficiency of this approach, some comparisons have been made between the deflection bowl from the model and reference measures from an anchored sensor or an FWD (crossover trials on FWD/Deflectographs/Curviameter/anchored sensors in April, 2016 and BRRC data files).
