National Tree Day (à corriger)
Message de foudet posté le 06-10-2005 à 20:39:38 (S | E | F | I)

Pouvez vous me corriger mes fautes, please?
Je dois écrire un article à propos du National Tree Day :

April 29th is a day on which the environment goes on a better future. Indeed, at this date, you'll be able to help the planet in planting trees. The idea for "Arbor" Day comes from Nebraskan J. Sterling Morton, a journalist of the Nebraska, in 1872. He encouraged tree planting for windbreaks, soil protection and for buildings materials. The first celebration of this "Plant a Tree" Day offered prizes to people who planted the largest numbers of trees. It was a success with more than 1 million trees plant(ed/ing?). Although, there were many "Arbor" Day celebrated since then, however it only was officially recognised for 35 years when president Nixon declared the last Friday in April as "National Arbor" Day. This events have now its equivalence in Australia, Japan, Israel, Korea, Yugoslavia and Iceland.
It's aimed at helping cleanse and purify the air by soaking up unhealthy gazes like carbon dioxyde. At the same time, trees produce oxygen for the planet. Moreover, they are helpful to reducing erosion and provide re-fertilisation of the soil. Furthermore, trees have also an esthetic function on the landscapes.
To sum up, "the cultivation of trees is the cultivation of the good, the beautiful and the ennobling in man" like Nebraskan J. Sterling Morton wrote in the Nebraska City News about the subject.

Merci de votre aide et de vos conseils.
